Whoa.. 900 worth of daz3d pro software for .. free for a short time
Its been a long time since I posted, and I will be catching things up..

but for now..

Interested in 3D? Check this out, FAST!!!!
DAZ3D Giving away $800.00 worth of 3D Software FREE

The biggest thing to hit the 3D community in a long time is the short term Announcement at Daz3D (Digital Art Zone 3D) that their landmark products for 3D posing, composition, rendering, modeling and making scenery/landscapes etc are all FREE for a short period of time.

Daz Studio 4 Professional normally $429.95 dollars FREE
(Including Genesis, winner of 3D World’s 2011 Software Innovation of the Year Award, with judges like Pixar, Dreamworks and Sony Pictures)

Bryce 7 Professional (Scenes/Atmospheres/Landscapes) normally $249.95 dollars FREE

Hexagon 2.5 (Modeling Software) normally $149.95 dollars FREE

DAZ3D Overview Page

If you EVER wanted to try out 3D and play around in it, and see what those of us who are fanatics in 3D love so much, this is the best time to check it out, and get around $800.00 worth of software for absolutely FREE. You'd be nuts not to check this out.

DAZ Studio 4 is the software I use to create the 3D images you see in my gallery.
I've been a happy user of Digital Art Zone software for a very long time and I can guarantee you this is for real. No secret deals or such, no try period, no limitations, no nothing. Just awesome free software that will be yours to keep even after the offer expires. You'll also qualify for future updates and offers. Not to mention the awesome Michael 5 for Genesis is just around the corner!

This is the best chance to start creating 3D images and use the versatile Genesis figure to the max.
This new figure allows for drastic reshaping that was simply not possible before. This means we can now have drastic characters, including furry ones (check the Gorilla in my gallery, for one example). We are even getting an elephant anthro recently! The more support the figure gets, the more shapes we get. And since we can mix every single one, the possibilities are practically endless.
You don't need any previous 3D experience. This is aimed at artists of all levels. And I'll be glad to give a hand if you need it.

Also if you click on the All Products and Promotions and select Free, you will find some free models, free tutorials and other goodies.

EDIT: They are just giving away a $5.00 voucher to spend in their store and help you get started. Use code FrEE3DS0FtWr in your account. It can be used to cover the total of a DAZ Original or half of a regular vendor product. You could get the awesome MR. Hyde for Genesis very cheap for example. Here are more details:

No, I don't have any affiliation with DAZ3D, I don't get anything by announcing their stuff.

I just found out the next issue of 3dworld has the V5 starter pack for free.Issue 153

Someone said 3dartist has a elite V5 texture included as well.  I don't know the issue yet on that one.

It's been a while since I have updated. I have been on the fa account and going to try more here.

I am waiting at the DMV with purr for her to get her license renewel.

Laughs and says and now I have no idea what to type. Though what popped in my mind is that I am on the cusp of something but it's just out of site and reach.

Well better updates later

Canvas or Paper
So I was doing some thinking, a dangerous thing I know.  So if I was to ever make prints of the artwork I have.  What do  you think people would prefer.  Canvas? Paper (Nice art paper that is).  What do you prefer?

Netflix and missing content
I am cross posting this to here.

I spoke to them, and while there doesn't seem to be an official through there call people. He took it as a note to send up. I would suggest that everyone call http://www.netflix.com/ContactUs?lnkctr=cuPh&show=true and write.

They probably made a deal with the devil to get cheaper discs or perhaps more streaming content. They need to understand that this can backfire for them. If you have a journal somewhere else post this and let us be heard.

I had read in the news a little while back, just before Avatar came out that some new disc rentals will also be delayed by up to 30 days (While not the best I can live with that its just a small delay, no skin off my nose) in exchange for larger amount of streaming content.

I love netflix, but I am disturbed that the new blu ray rentals are missing all the extra content. I just watched Alvan and the Chipmunks the Squeekal. On Amazon the bluray is listed as 1 disk with quite a few extras. The disc I get is movie only. I don't know how much one vote with money will mean to them. We need to let them know that this is unacceptable, I would write them and let you know your not happy with there policy to off substandard versions of the discs.

I will post a new journal after I call them monday.

Fathers Day
I had a nice day, got to relax some.  I played some WoW for a bit, then decided to tackle the rest of the Faded industry tutorial in Carrara.  The Tutorial is for Daz Studio (BTW they just released version 3.0 has some great new features and the basic version is still free, the advanced is on sale right now).  I think that while the final image is close I really need to take a different approach in doing this image.  DS does things one way and Carrara has so many powerful options that I think that I am shortcutting myself by doing it by the same approach.  I am posting to dreamlight Lounge forums under carrara my experience and see if I get some feedback on better ways to do some things.  I hope this makes sense too because I am very tired right now.  Tomorrow I think I will re-read this and laught at what I am trying to say.  I am also going to post on a book I just read.

Artwork.. well tutorial follow...

I learned a bunch about 3d, lighting and how to put together a great scene in postwork and what to do and some of the whys.  It hasn't sunk in yet, but here is the result.  Again this is a tutorial follow result.  This was done with the free Daz Studio, which has a ton of capabilities, and photoshop but it could have been post worked with GIMP or maybe Paint.NET (both free).

There is a lot to think about.  I am going to redo the tutorial trying to apply it to Carrara next.

Update on that posting I just did
Apparently its march madness, and if you get that magazine, and the fact that Carrara 7 is on sale right now, you can upgrade from 6 Pro to 7 Pro for under 100, plus there is a 20% off coupon Forum Link to Coupon  Now I have the platinum club (was 30.00 to join lots of bennies), its possible that the pricing for the based under 100 is plat club pricing, still a good price).

Safari Starter Bundle for free right now
Anime Star Fighter

you can still get Carrara 6 Pro for free well the cost of the magazine by getting Digital Arts magazine , current issue (Apr 09) has Carrara 6 Pro, with shaders and models on a coverdisc.  It is Aprils in the UK we are sometimes a month behind so if you see it and its the previous edition just wait and check back.  If you wanted to get into 3d this is a great full featured App.

trying to find out what the **** are these holes
These showed up close to the house, though I have seen little ones around before but way out further.

I assume some kind of insect/bug/etc  Question is, what made it... Scorpion? Termite? They look like a cigarette would fit in them, round smooth sides like a drill would do if you just bore into the ground with it.

Under the cut due to size.Collapse )

Finished the tutorial
So much to absorb, I learned a lot, both in the 3d world and things in photoshop.  Here is the final after doing the tutorial.  I posted a message on a free version of Carrara 6 Pro that you can get, this was technically done in C6 Pro as I didn't use any of the C7 Functions (The tutorial was written using C6 Pro).
