<lj:music>Music from Mamma Mia</lj:music>

I am thinking of posting again, its funny when lots of angst happens I don't feel like posting or more exposing that downer side. We will see how this goes.. LOL an update.. and I painted.. nothing LOL

I did have a birthday, for it we went to Mamma Mia (stage version) before it closes. Its a great show.

I did however get because they went on sale the furry chars from runtimeDNA littlefox I believe is the creator, or one of them.

Here is a quick render, it was a prebuilt scene and lights so I can't take any credit, and just a pose.

Larger one here formatted for a widescreen background 1680 x 1050.

Got a contractor coming out tomorrow to look at the damage to the floor in the 4 rooms and see what its going to run, the flooring is a separate group but they will be coming out later.

I am still pondering moving my computer out to the workshop. The biggest thing is the cold..then warming it up. Someone suggested putting a light inside the case on, I wonder if I can do that in a box so that the monitor also gets some 'warmth' as well. Something about the dew point condensation forming.

Okay I play World of Warcraft. If you play and are on the Antonidas server let me know.

Well I guess thats all for now, I could write a ton but I think this is it for now.

Only 2% of the population share your type. You are so empathic that you often know what others need before they know themselves. You are a complex person who can deal with complicated issues and people, almost prefer to, as you love problem solving. You can be something of an idealist or perfectionist, and should try to take yourself a little less seriously.
You are a supportive and insightful romantic partner, encouraging your mate to have dreams and work hard to make those dreams come true. Because you are so creative, you have a wealth of ideas to help them toward those goals. You need harmony so much that you are driven to resolve conflict quickly, as long as the terms don't violate your ethics. You feel the most appreciated when your partner admires your creativity, trusts your inspirations, and respects your values. It is also vitally important that your partner be open and emotionally available - in other words, that they be willing to share themselves completely.
Your group summary: idealists (NF)
Your type summary: INFJ

Take The LONG Scientific Personality Test at HelloQuizzy
</a>

San Diego trip

We took a small trip to San Diego, we decided to try a trip without a lot of specific planning. So no Zoo, Seaworld, Animal Park etc. The only thing on the agenda was making sure of some beach time. Purr really needed some time away and Beach seems to recharge her. We tried a few things we did the dual tour of the San Diego Harbor (I figured she would want water, boat all that relaxing), we also walked on the Midway aircraft carrier next door. We got to discover a few things about some likes and dislikes. While the Harbor and area was nice.. it didn't hit the magic button for her. We got some beach time and that did a little but wasn't right either but still better. We did find some beaches in Laguna shores that hit it. We did this on the drive back home. We also managed to get that oh you can't see the sun at all clouded day sunburn! She did more than I because she has that fair/white white skin. We got an average of 32 MPG also on the trip!!!

We used the Iphone for all navigating / maps while down there, it worked like a champ (though I would like to have the model with a real GPS, the pseudo one worked fairly well). It could get us to anywhere we happened to want to go. Some of the Apps I thought we would use didn't come in as handy, however the Ymoble (By ATT a yellow pages App), really worked the best. Want food, type in food, want a specific type of food, just type that in, it can sort by how close, ratings etc. Just tap on the one you want it gives details and click on the address and it bring up a map, another it brings up directions, or click the phone number and just give em a call. We were walking in the gas lamp quarter in downtown San Diego and we wanted to see a movie. I have an App called BoxOffice, it did a current location, and turned out there was a theater just up the street, and we had time to catch a movie. (We saw Mama Mia - more on that later). We decided when we go back down there that we would take in at least one park.

We also when we came back took the Kidlet, well not really a kidlet anymore as she is 18 and out of highschool, to see the new Batman movie in Imax. It was crystal clear, they had the sound really cranked and it was a good movie. I won't go through a review of the movie, which had some excellent acting and really bringing the dark night story dark. I will however say that it will be rare for me to go to an Imax and will focus on getting a home theater setup as spending 45.00 for 3 tickets and not having any treats is a bit much. That pretty was the end of our vacation.

We got our wireless changed to a new tower today. So far the connection is very fast, my first thought on loading some webpages is that this is 'snappy' we haven't had snappy since we have been here.

Deadline for the Fall Festival is fast approaching and I will have to get my butt out and see if I can work on that painting. My brain feels a bit scrambled so I am going to close this for now. I will remember everything else I wanted to say after I post, so I will save that for another time.

I added a little note to the end.

Rather than post this into a comment thread of another persons journal account I decided to post it here and link to it. I warn you its quiet long text wise with a number of supporting links. Its not an end all but it does show that its not such a one way position. This is both on Oil, Oil Prices and on Man Made Global warming.

What started this was blaming the Republicans for high gas prices. I just wanted to show that its on both sides hands not just one as that tends to get looked over. I have when talking to Rep leaning friends or Dem leaning friends start spouting off how its the other parties fault I just point them to a few interesting tidbits.

Its is a lot of information but I hope you peruse and reply.

This is what I was going to write in the journal comment.
-
I hear a lot of blame going around on both sides, well the truth is that both sides are to blame.

I would agree that Bush is not a good president at all (Okay we could do an extensive job on this but I think most agree that not good doesnt' even begin to describe it, only one worse perhaps a tie is Carter).

I do see a lot of finger pointing going on at just the Republicans (they do have their own full measure of blame).

But some facts that seem to be obfuscated in all this. The price of gas has doubled with a Democratic House and Senate in place. April 2006, Nancy Pelosi is about to take over at the helm, says in a released statement "With skyrocketing gas prices, it is clear that the American people can no longer afford the Republican Rubber Stamp Congress." She also made a commitment after that statement "Democrats have a common sense plan to help bring down skyrocketing gas prices by cracking down on price gouging." The average price of gas was about 2.50 a gallon at that time. They also have failed. http://www.house.gov/pelosi/press/releases/April06/Rubberstamp.html

We need to look where this goes back to, when Clinton and gore where in office. Gore wanted to see gas prices rise. (its in his book). A number of things where done to speed this along, including the 'reformulation' of gas in different area's (which has now proven to be more harmful to the environment), continued blockage on refineries and setting aside areas that would be used to look for oil, etc. We have bought a line that is while sounds good is in danger of destroying us. Bill Clinton said "We just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse emissions because we've got to save the planet for our grandchildren." I am all for saving the planet, recycling but doing it smartly. Look at the mercury filled 'power saving” light bulbs. Yes each one of those contains mercury because they had to have them “NOW” eventually you will pay a fee to dispose of them because when you have 100 million (Wal-mart expects to sell 100 million alone) of these go into landfill that is not just a little mercury that is a lot (a ton of sources but here is a couple ) http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=7431198 http://www.pww.org/article/articleview/12107/1/400 there are also problems with eyes from long term exposure, and of course those who are epileptic

The congress and senate started allowing speculation in the oil industry, but despite everyone wanting to bring things back under control they haven't decided to step back in and halt this practice.

Lets look at the chaos that our government has allowed, this has happened with both parties in power of house, senate and presidency. While we the people remain at the mercy of oil companies, OPEC, cartels our government has made it so that our hands are tied, so that we cannot even tap on a temporary basis for energy relief from our own land. Here are a few key areas that are on the energy and oil landscape right now.

We have more shale oil in Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado than oil in the entire middle east combined (800 billion barrels), It has been made illegal to touch this (a Brooklyn born scientist has developed a way to effectively and cleanly convert shale oil into a light crude http://money.cnn.com/2008/06/06/news/economy/birger_shale.fortune/?postversion=2008060617 )
It is not legal to explore in the Pacific, Eastern gulf of Mexico, or Atlantic
We haven't built a refinery in over 25 years and have reduced production in those we have by about half.
Natural gas, there is something like 406 Trillion feet of it enough to heat every home in America for 150 years but can't tap much of it.
We have the largest supply of coal in the world, but its Germany that is planning by 2020 to have 27 new coal fired electrical plants.
Drilling in the Alaska Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (BTW we are talking drilling and touching under 8% of ANWAR) or off the coasts of Florida or California (Note that we ban 85% of the coast for energy production. Take Florida it has HUGE reserves located there. The US is prohibited from drilling within 120 mils of the Florida coast, BUT China through Cuba is drilling 45-90 miles off the Florida coast. So how can they do this , thank Jimmy Carter in 1977 he created for Cuba a “Exclusive Economic Zone” which in effect extended the county's western tip to the north, nearly to Key West Florida. If China and Cuba are in the same water taking our reserves should we be gathering them for ourselves? http://www.investors.com/editorial/editorialcontent.asp?secid=1501&status=article&id=296435488187160 http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/china_starts_oil_drilling.html http://havanajournal.com/business/entry/cuba_to_drill_for_oil_in_potential_florida_zone/
We have stopped getting any more leases to drill for oil in the Gulf of Mexico but China, Venezuela and Cuba are getting them. http://www.investors.com/editorial/editorialcontent.asp?secid=1501&status=article&id=297645188487872

To add to all this Iraq has said that Oil production is now at PreWar levels about 2.5 million barrels a day. http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2008-06-07-iraq-oil_N.htm

Both sides in this have their hands dirty. This is what we get by saying I am voting for the lessor of two evils and not standing up early in the process rather then saying I don't have time, or I will just wait to vote in November. The result is that if you choose the lessor of two evils you still get the same result.

Add to this lunacy the cap and trade system that both Obama and McCain are supporting. It is estimated that it will increase gas prices by another 1.50 a gallon on top of what market has set things at. http://news.yahoo.com/s/realclearpolitics/20080603/cm_rcp/cap_and_trade_trap
Look at what the results of this bill will be http://www.heritage.org/Research/EnergyandEnvironment/wm1930.cfm
http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=66244

US to stop publishing / monitoring foreign investment esp in infrastructure http://worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=66694 Now foreign investment in 2007 reached 276 billion, what else to do with all the money our government has allowed to go out. We don't even play on the same playing field with China, they impose lots of restrictions but we let them have a complete free hand.

BUT don't you want to stop Global Warming?? what is the one thing that most of the facts have shown isn't happening is from man made carbon related issues. I won't get as detailed posting here but I have attached some links. I am also for conservation, and protecting the environment but being smart about it and not destroying ourselves in the process. (See the CFL bulb above).

Truth is its a power and money grab.

Well lets see first of all http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080606/ap_on_sc/japan_iea_climate_change Crops have been converted to fuel and other things,or also just not grown, large farms big companies (who are the major receivers of farm subsidies not the little guy from a left over after the cival war legislation that still won't go away) The elimination of our reserves started under a Dem President and Rep House and Congress, and Continued till it was all gone under a Rep President and a Dem House and Congress. http://www.tristateobserver.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=10121 I am going to let my brain rest and try to finish getting well.

A Little note, I will not say I am the end all on this information, or is this complete. Its a snapshot of what I have come across. Its easy to blame X person or X party. Until people start to not just listen to what they think they want to hear, or play the 'its fun to blame a certain party or political figure'. Things aren't going to change. People listen to speaches but not actions, it goes beyond the surface the media wants to paint. People not being involved is one of the biggest problem we face. People don't research. Politicians pass the bills. people don't research who pass them, they don't research Who submits bills, who kills Bills. We really have 2 sides of the same coin in the Dems and Reps. They keep us off balance on with heated issues. They make it easy to point fingers and get riled but in truth it keeps the focus on just these two parties, and their leaders. people don't get involved early enough in the process. Add to that by throwing big companies that toss money and weight around, not caring what it does to you and I in the long run.

I need to get that babbling whiney one off the first post :D

I am helping Shadow with a logo art piece, though I am not happy with how its going so far. I am thinking of going back and re-doing the stars to something that has more punch or something. I will post what its going like in a few days as right now I have a HUGE honey-DO list. The kidlet is graduating this week and we have guests coming in and the house is a disaster after moving the gallery and all the equipment back to the house. That is where the huge Honey-DO list is coming from :D

I have come across a couple of more art tutorials, one given to me by Richard Bartrop on some free anatomy references http://www.fineart.sk/index.php?cat=1 I also came across this one which is not free http://the-structure-of-man.blogspot.com/ This last one looks very nice and I think I will have to spring for it, or maybe for my birthday.

We went and saw Indiana Jones movie and I enjoyed it. No spoilers :) I know have said they didn't like it, but I took it for what it was and had a good time.

http://www.reallifecomics.com/ (its for May 26th since I can't point to the specific comic archive yet) This made me chuckle as I had a friend who if you didn't see the movie first or with them he would do something to give it all away. For Starwars Return of the Jedi he drew a picture of Luke, Leia Darth Vadar laying there and Leia says "Luke our father is dead" and would leave that around for people to view unsuspecting.

I had a dream last night, funny thing is I woke up, (Alarm set wrong) and when I went back to bed it continued but I can't remember it now. I don't usually have 'contining' dreams like that.

Whats with that, nothing for several weeks and now a second posting.

I wanted to share something that was just released.

There is an artist, Stonemason who makes exquisitely detailed models, usually environments. From Sci-Fi to Ruins to Modern they are very detailed and usually outstanding. He has a nice tutorial on CGSociety and CGArena on texturing and also on creating buildings.

Here is his latest release called Streets Of The Mediterranean it can be found a Daz, I have put the Daz link at the name. I will attempt to post a link to the image to show here under the cut. They have a lot more images of course on that other page. He also knows his lighting as you can see.

His two tutorials that I know of are Hard Surface Texture Painting and Making an Urban Environment (Though I hope to try something like this in Carrara, its capable, this is written for 3DSMax its all applicable.

Its been a while since I have posted, My life is so exciting as you can tell. More just a lot of internal thought and I haven't gotten comfortable putting all that in here.

I can't believe I never watched The Abyss before. I happen to catch it on Sci-Fi well over 3 days since I had it on the PVR, but I enjoyed it.

We are still working to figure out what is going on with our daughter, the Md's here basically said nothing showed up on the tests, so we are taking her to the Dr that is doing really well for both Purr and Myself down in Arizona.

And now I draw a blank. I have been doing so much just day to day taking care of things right now, Purr is under the weather that just its all mundane. I am still reading on 3d stuff and Art and want to get going on both the art and a project for artists that want reproductions done. I picked up ImageFX, I should have gotten this magazine awhile ago. If you haven't seen it, I would give it a look, they have workshops, and examples from physical painted art to digital.

I have so many idea's going through my head, I have started a small notebook with things that would be fun to do and render. Things like taking a photo of a friend who likes Battlestar Galactica and having him pose then rendering and placing a viper with him leaning against it to full scenes/art projects. But got to walk first :D and so one of these days I will finish the chapter in my book and the video lesson I payed for.

I started reading a book by Dan Millman He wrote The Peaceful warrior (which I have not read but saw the movie) the book is "The life you were born to live", Its something that jumped out at me and has had me doing some thinking, in a good way. I am letting it percolate and then will go and re-read.

I also need to beef up my knowledge of electronics/electricity as I have a couple of things I want to do there, one building a more powerful zapper, though I may enlist a friends help who helped another of his friend build a large one, chair sized. It follows Clark and Riffs work, that kills bacterial and Viral infections/organisms in the body.

So I am sitting here thinking how do I ask if anyone knows of any modeled (free :D) full horse bits? if not I may have to make that a project. It was part of a larger discussion of this Centaur that was re-released. Since we don't have our horses any longer I will have to ask a neighbor to take reference pictures *chuckles* Orr maybe not.. I am picturing that discussion.

I am more rambling then making sense so it might be better to ignore this post and when I am less tired I will try to make one that.. well makes some sense.
