posting..
I am thinking of posting again, its funny when lots of angst happens I don't feel like posting or more exposing that downer side.  We will see how this goes.. LOL an update.. and I painted.. nothing LOL

I did have a birthday, for it we went to Mamma Mia (stage version) before it closes.  Its a great show.

I did however get because they went on sale the furry chars from runtimeDNA littlefox I believe is the creator, or one of them.

Here is a quick render, it was a prebuilt scene and lights so I can't take any credit, and just a pose.

Curiosity

Larger one here formatted for a widescreen background 1680 x 1050.

Got a contractor coming out tomorrow to look at the damage to the floor in the 4 rooms and see what its going to run, the flooring is a separate group but they will be coming out later.

I am still pondering moving my computer out to the workshop.  The biggest thing is the cold..then warming it up. Someone suggested putting a light inside the case on, I wonder if I can do that in a box so that the monitor also gets some 'warmth' as well.  Something about the dew point condensation forming.

Okay I play World of Warcraft.  If you play and are on the Antonidas server let me know.

Well I guess thats all for now, I could write a ton but I think this is it for now.

Your result for The LONG Scientific Personality Test...

INFJ - the counselor

You are so empathic that you often know what others need before they know themselves. You are a complex person who can deal with complicated issues and people, almost prefer to, as you love problem solving. You can be something of an idealist or perfectionist, and should try to take yourself a little less seriously.
You are a supportive and insightful romantic partner, encouraging your mate to have dreams and work hard to make those dreams come true. Because you are so creative, you have a wealth of ideas to help them toward those goals. You need harmony so much that you are driven to resolve conflict quickly, as long as the terms don't violate your ethics. You feel the most appreciated when your partner admires your creativity, trusts your inspirations, and respects your values. It is also vitally important that your partner be open and emotionally available - in other words, that they be willing to share themselves completely.

San Diego trip
We took a small trip to San Diego, we decided to try a trip without a lot of specific planning.  So no Zoo, Seaworld, Animal Park etc.  The only thing on the agenda was making sure of some beach time.  Purr really needed some time away and Beach seems to recharge her.  We tried a few things we did the dual tour of the San Diego Harbor (I figured she would want water, boat all that relaxing), we also walked on the Midway aircraft carrier next door.  We got to discover a few things about some likes and dislikes.  While the Harbor and area was nice.. it didn't hit the magic button for  her.  We got some beach time and that did a little but wasn't right either but still better.  We did find some beaches in Laguna shores that hit it.  We did this on the drive back home.  We also managed to get that oh you can't see the sun at all clouded day sunburn!  She did more than I because she has that fair/white white skin.  We got an average of 32 MPG also on the trip!!!

We used the Iphone for all navigating / maps while down there, it worked like a champ (though I would like to have the model with a real GPS, the pseudo one worked fairly well).  It could get us to anywhere we happened to want to go.  Some of the Apps I thought we would use didn't come in as handy, however the Ymoble (By ATT a yellow pages App), really worked the best.  Want food, type in food, want a specific type of food, just type that in, it can sort by how close, ratings etc.  Just tap on the one you want it gives details and click on the address and it bring up a map, another it brings up directions, or click the phone number and just give em a call.  We were walking in the gas lamp quarter in downtown San Diego and we wanted to see a movie.  I have an App called BoxOffice, it did a current location, and turned out there was a theater just up the street, and we had time to catch a movie. (We saw Mama Mia - more on that later).  We decided when we go back down there that we would take in at least one park.

We also when we came back took the Kidlet, well not really a kidlet anymore as she is 18 and out of highschool, to see the new Batman movie in Imax.  It was crystal clear, they had the sound really cranked and it was a good movie.  I won't go through a review of the movie, which had some excellent acting and really bringing the dark night story dark.  I will however say that it will be rare for me to go to an Imax and will focus on getting a home theater setup as spending 45.00 for 3 tickets and not having any treats is a bit much.  That pretty was the end of our vacation.

We got our wireless changed to a new tower today.  So far the connection is very fast, my first thought on loading some webpages is that this is 'snappy'  we haven't had snappy since we have been here.

Deadline for the Fall Festival is fast approaching and I will have to get my butt out and see if I can work on that painting.  My brain feels a bit scrambled so I am going to close this for now.  I will remember everything else I wanted to say after I post, so I will save that for another time.

just a post...
Long time no post.

A lot is going on, I still haven't gotten a handle on the wants and need todo's list.

I still haven't managed to get through the Video training for Carrara yet.  I do want to!

I found out that I would still have time to do a painting for the local annual fair.  I did pretty well when I entered in 2002.

I made 2 shirts for Second Life, I have posted them below.

Dragon Shirt  *  Unicorn Shirt

There is some stress and ups and downs on the personal home front but I will have to flesh that out later.  This is just a quick post to say I haven't died or anything.

STOP The itching!

I have apparently eaten something that didn't agree with me.. or an additive I have broken out in hives!! AARGGHH *must not scratch*

My cold is changing, I think its on its last leg.. just to get rid of the cough that pops up.   I can taste things again (Hey no comments from the peanut gallery).

I was looking through FurAffinity, trying to catch up on the pictures I hadn't seen yet and came across this wonderful photograph.  The title is My Stallion deflowering someone.  http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1402467/  Hey now I saw where your mind went.  Back up here :)

I hope those going to AC a wonderful, safe and fun trip!

IMAGE and Sun Virtual Box
I don't know if it is because of being in Vista or perhaps Vista64 but even on a fresh XP install VirtualBox crashes on me.  Its cool for the little bit that did work.  I will try the Linux version a bit later and see if that works.

Image by TeraByte Unlimited for making a full image of your HD worked out well.  I was able to backup the disc and restore, also to restore to the virtual drive with a little bit of hoops but nothing major. I also got to try out their BootIt Next Gen. I was able to shrink the partitions and slide them all together to maximize freespace.

Still can't shake this cold and I am really getting tired of it.

Stonemason one of the great scene/building makers in 3d just released a low-poly for more background usage set of city blocks.  I have no particular use of it at the moment so will save my pennies but its pretty nice.  The interesting thing is he released with it a set of shaders for Carrara, D|S, Vue, Poser.  I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't have some others that perhaps he sells elsewhere.  Makes me think of a Blade Runner type city.

just an update

No update for awhile.. I am still trying to kick this lingering cold...

I found a recommended set of tutorials that deals in a whole bunch of topics from photoshop and others.  The direct photoshop one is HERE if you get rid of the word photoshop and leave tutorial then you can see all of them.

I am also trying to find something similar to RapidWeaver but for windows.  Rapidweaver is a great drag and drop (though you can do more with it) with add-ons.  They don't make it for windows and so far I haven't found anything equivalent in free or pay for windows.

I started playing with Suns VirtualBox its a free opensource Virtual-Guest OS software.  If you want to try running another OS within your current one without rebooting give it a go.

I got my VTC tutorials for Carrara though I haven't been able to go through them. SOOOOOON :D

I am going to attempt to image my HD partitions, then start a new BIOS mirrored raid set with this new drive, then restore and hope everything works okay :D

Oil, Oil Prices, Gas and Man made global warming.

I added a little note to the end.

Rather than post this into a comment thread of another persons journal account I decided to post it here and link to it.  I warn you its quiet long text wise with a number of supporting links.  Its not an end all but it does show that its not such a one way position.  This is both on Oil, Oil Prices and on Man Made Global warming.

What started this was blaming  the Republicans for high gas prices.  I just wanted to show that its on both sides hands not just one as that tends to get looked over.  I have when talking to Rep leaning friends or Dem leaning friends start spouting off how its the other parties fault I just point them to a few interesting tidbits.

Its is a lot of information but I hope you peruse and reply.

Below here is what I wrote. )

Art and dreams
I need to get that babbling whiney one off the first post :D

I am helping Shadow with a logo art piece, though I am not happy with how its going so far.  I am thinking of going back and re-doing the stars to something that has more punch or something.  I will post what its going like in a few days as right now I have a HUGE honey-DO list.  The kidlet is graduating this week and we have guests coming in and the house is a disaster after moving the gallery and all the equipment back to the house.  That is where the huge Honey-DO list is coming from :D

I have come across a couple of more art tutorials, one given to me by Richard Bartrop on some free anatomy references http://www.fineart.sk/index.php?cat=1  I also came across this one which is not free http://the-structure-of-man.blogspot.com/ This last one looks very nice and I think I will have to spring for it, or maybe for my birthday.

We went and saw Indiana Jones movie and I enjoyed it.  No spoilers :) I know have said they didn't like it, but I took it for what it was and had a good time.

http://www.reallifecomics.com/ (its for May 26th since I can't point to the specific comic archive yet) This made me chuckle as I had a friend who if you didn't see the movie first or with them he would do something to give it all away.  For Starwars Return of the Jedi he drew a picture of Luke, Leia Darth Vadar laying there and Leia says "Luke our father is dead" and would leave that around for people to view unsuspecting.

I had a dream last night, funny thing is I woke up, (Alarm set wrong) and when I went back to bed it continued but I can't remember it now.  I don't usually have 'contining' dreams like that.

the AAMC
Never heard of this group before, but I like at least what I have read so far.

The Association of American Medical Colleges has proposed that drug and medical device companies be banned from giving items such as gifts, travel, ghost-writing services – even food – to doctors, staff members, and students at all of America's 129 medical colleges.

Apparently the big pharms spend billions at this level in fact they spend more there, then they do advertising.  And the ad-budgets would make Budweiser weep.

This is their website.  http://www.aamc.org/  the first article is a PDF on their task force recommendations. This is the direct link to the PDF http://www.aamc.org/research/coi/industryfunding.pdf

Well there is a lot of disturbing things in this practice, but one of the most is the free ghost writing.  So a pharm wants a postive Dr. endorsement professional paper.  They write it and just have the Dr. sign it.  What I have read in other places, usually just signed without reading or really caring.

Set of Tutorial links...
A couple of Tutorial links, first up is CGTutorials.com it has Photoshop as well as a number of other programs like Bryce and others.
Here is the Photoshop link at CGTutorials.

There is a list (where I got the CGTutorial link from)  http://artzone.daz3d.com/index.php?azmode=ix&section=forum&op=view&friendly=g_101&query_details=read,1,11  I hope that it will let you read it without being a member otherwise I will put together the list separately.

I did come down with the crud but been hitting it pretty aggressively and hopefully it won't be too bad.

Health and Daz puts a bundle on sale...
I am got back from the doctor, I may have caught purr's Bug so am going to be taking it easy for a bit to help make sure this doesn't stick around.  She is on nearly a month now.  I am NOT going to get Pneumonia!

**Daz Sale notice**

Just a heads up if anyone was looking to get the DAZ3d Software, they are doing a stimulus sale.  What you get is (add copy from the Daz Member forum for posting here)

*** BUNDLE LINK ***
What if you could get all this for $199?*

Hexagon 2.5, now with the DAZ Studio 3D Bridge, Sculpted Primities, Freehand Modeling brushes, and much more!
Bryce 6.1, the award-winning 3D modeling and animation package allowing you to make more realistic 3D environments.

Well, if you're a Platinum Club member, you can!   (requires joining even if for just one month to do the sale, but you get some other benefits as well if you keep it going).  Platinum Club Monthly Membership (note that price is the price to join, read below if you want to make it ongoing its less and includes a 5.00 voucher )  Platinum Club Annual Membership (the renewal is less)

Normally this software would cost about $1,300, but it is priced for this promotion in a bundle at $999, the price everyone else gets it for. But you get it for $199! If you have most of the packages already, you will have the chance to get them on sale ala carte at various times throughout the month, but you won't get a better overall deal than with this bundle! And, even if you have one or two of these packages, this price is so aggressive that you might still save money buying the bundle.

They are also doing some sales on individual software packages throughout the month, but no details on the when and such.
